*$25 gives three adult immigrants study materials to prepare for the U.S. citizenship exam.

*$50 buys children art supplies for four sessions of the Art Explorers program.

*$100 grants books and supplies to 15 children in an Early Morning Reading program.

*$250 transforms an empty lot into a vibrant playground with paint and supplies for line games and murals.

*$1,000 provides eight low-income students one-on-one SAT tutoring for one year.

If each Hands On New York Day volunteer raises $150, New York Cares could provide $4.5 million in service to the community.

* $150 gives 18 adult immigrants study materials to prepare for the U.S. citizenship exam.
* $150 grants books and supplies to 23 children in an Early Morning Reading program.
* $150 provides one low-income student with one-on-one tutoring for an entire year.
